Your teenager has probably participated in a multitude of activities in his lifetime. Karate, kiddy yoga, Lego art. Maybe he won an award for best Show-and-Tell.
All of that is probably just a faint memory, and that’s OK, of course. But now that high school’s here, your teen needs to start tracking the things he does outside of normal high school classes.
Extracurricular activities, awards and honors matter for college applications.
College admissions officers want to learn about your teen’s high school activities, awards and accolades in order to 1) know that your kid isn’t a slacker, and 2) to better understand what sets him apart from other applicants.
Your teen will be asked to list these on the college application.
